Product videos / SCENARIO GUIDE
How to turn a static product ad into a useful motion brief
Keep the still ad’s product and main message, then add one meaningful motion. A static image supplies a starting composition, not a complete movement plan. Decide what the motion should reveal and what must remain readable before generating a clip.
Identify what the still already communicates
An approved pouch image may establish the product, brand and a natural kitchen setting. A motion brief should add a clearer material detail or a gentle reveal, rather than replace the room or introduce a new ingredient. Keep the actual offer and product evidence separate from the mood.
Inspect text in the source image. Dense embedded copy can distort as the clip moves. Prepare a cleaner product-led starting image when necessary and add exact campaign text in the final edit. Do not animate a defective still and expect movement to correct its label or geometry.
Choose one reason for motion
| Static strength | Useful movement | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Clear packaging | Small controlled camera approach | A fast orbit revealing an unknown back |
| Visible material | Gentle light or angle change | Transforming the material |
| Complete bundle | Restrained move across the arrangement | Objects appearing or disappearing |
| Simple supported use | One modest visible interaction | Several invented demonstrations |
A decorative movement is acceptable when atmosphere is the actual objective, but it should not imply a verified function. Write the reason in the brief so the reviewer can decide whether the clip accomplishes it.
Develop and approve the motion plan
- Select a correct approved image for the starting composition.
- Open Product videos and describe the one detail the motion should add.
- Review the timed storyboard and keep the ending useful for a final product impression.
- Confirm video generation only after source, plan and displayed cost are acceptable.
The current workflow generates from an approved starting image. It does not analyze a competitor video and automatically replace the product through matching shots. Image remix can help explore an authorized still direction, but it is a different task from video cloning.
Judge the clip against the still
Compare product recognition at the start and end, then watch the whole interval. Did the motion reveal something useful or merely make the object less legible? Check label stability, product proportions, contact shadows and continuity of included components. A convincing new angle is not acceptable if it invents construction.
Keep the static version as a fallback and as a source for placements that do not need motion. Finish text and sound externally where required. If a clip adds no useful information or atmosphere, publish the approved still instead of assuming every campaign benefits from video.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as replacing a product in a reference video?
No. This workflow develops motion from an approved still image; it does not clone and replace a reference video.
Can I animate any promotional poster?
Review the source first. Dense embedded text or an inaccurate product can become harder to use during motion.
Does motion always improve an advertisement?
No. Judge it against the communication objective and use actual campaign measurement for performance claims.
