Product videos / SCENARIO GUIDE
One continuous product shot or an edited ad: which should you plan?
Use one continuous shot when one product action or camera move can carry the idea. Use an external editing workflow when the story needs cuts, locations, separate demonstrations or a testimonial. Itemlume’s current storyboard beats are phases of one shot, not an automatic multi-scene production.
Map the idea to visible states
A bottle can begin clearly visible, receive a gentle camera move across its label, and settle into a stable end within one setting. A story that moves from a kitchen problem to a warehouse and then a customer review contains different scenes. Calling those stages opening, middle and closing does not make them one achievable shot.
Before planning, list which objects, person and surface need to exist at the start. If a later beat requires a missing prop or a different location, prepare another source or simplify the story. Do not expect a product to transform into a new configuration halfway through.
Choose the production route deliberately
| Idea | Suitable route | Constraint |
|---|---|---|
| Slow reveal or controlled camera move | One Itemlume product shot | Keep the product and setting stable |
| Close detail then a distant location | Separate clips and editing | No automatic scene cut in this workflow |
| Customer testimonial | Appropriate creator or recording workflow | No generated spoken testimonial here |
| Three product demonstrations | Separate verified demonstrations | Do not compress unrelated actions into one shot |
An external edit is a production choice, not a failure of creativity. It can provide precise timing and text control where a single generated shot is the wrong format.
Plan within the current workbench
- Describe the verified product and one achievable visual idea in Product videos.
- Review the opening, middle and closing as one continuous physical movement.
- Remove cuts, transformations and unseen rear details that the source cannot establish.
- Confirm the storyboard before generating the clip, then inspect the entire movement.
The workbench currently offers 5, 10 or 15 seconds at 720p without generated audio. Use the current interface to confirm availability and cost. A longer duration should give the same action room to develop, rather than adding unrelated scenes because more seconds are available.
Finish a larger ad outside the generation step
If the approved shot will be part of a larger advertisement, keep its role clear: opening recognition, feature detail or closing product view. Combine it with other approved assets in a video editor and verify the transitions. Add exact captions, licensed sound and the final call to action there.
Do not describe the edited outcome as something Itemlume generated in one request. Retain source clips and version records so later changes can be made at the correct stage. This avoids buying new generation simply to change a text overlay or rearrange already approved footage.

Frequently asked questions
Are three storyboard beats three generated scenes?
No. They are timed phases within the same continuous shot in the current workflow.
Can I generate an automatic multi-scene ad?
Not in this workbench. Plan appropriate individual clips and assemble a larger ad in an external editor.
Can one shot still have a beginning and ending?
Yes. Recognition, a focused action and a settled end can form a useful short story without cuts.
