How to hand an AI product clip to a video editor
Send the original clip together with the information an editor needs to use it accurately. Identify the usable interval, the intended communication job, the exact product variant and the work still required. A generated clip is source material; the handoff should explain what has been approved and what has not.
Identify the footage before requesting the edit
Begin with the downloaded original file, its product name and variant, and the selected first-frame image. Avoid sending only a screen recording of the preview. The original preserves the available image quality and gives the editor a stable source to reference when discussing timing.
State the intended use in one sentence. For example: use this headphone clip as the quiet closing product view in a vertical advertisement. That tells the editor why a stable ending matters. It does not require them to infer whether the clip is a demonstration, an introduction or a background for typography.
Mark the usable interval and the reasons for its boundaries
An illustrative ten-second source might have a usable interval from 1.2 to 8.6 seconds because the opening is unsettled and a late reflection obscures the model marking. Record the times from the actual file in an editor, not from a guessed frame rate. Include the reason for each boundary so an editor does not restore the rejected material to fill a gap.
Watch the proposed interval as a continuous passage. Two attractive still frames do not prove that everything between them is usable. If an internal defect remains, describe it and decide whether a shorter passage still tells a complete story. Do not label a clip approved when it requires the editor to conceal a misleading product transformation.
Deliver a small manifest with clear responsibilities
| Handoff item | Why the editor needs it |
|---|---|
| Original video and source image | Locate the exact material reviewed |
| Approved interval and rejected moments | Trim without reopening known defects |
| Exact name, model and units | Keep typography consistent with the product |
| Approved copy and reference layout | Distinguish wording from design suggestions |
| Requested delivery format | Choose the destination framing and export |
| Audio status and licensed assets | Know whether sound must be added separately |
Keep this manifest in an ordinary document beside the files. The current Itemlume workflow does not automatically produce an editing package or subtitle file. Download the footage and organize the additional materials yourself. Confirm the permissions for any music, voiceover or supplied reference asset independently.
Separate source properties from the delivery request
Check the file’s actual dimensions, duration and frame rate, then state the required final destination separately. Exporting a smaller source at a larger frame size does not create missing captured detail. If a crop hides the only product identifier, revise the layout instead of treating the destination ratio as an automatic conversion.
Adobe’s export documentation distinguishes settings such as frame size, frame rate and aspect ratio. Use that distinction when briefing an editor; it does not mean Itemlume offers all the same export controls. Adobe’s export settings reference.
Billo’s optional extra-footage offering also illustrates that raw material and a finished commissioned video are different deliverables. Its purchasing and rights arrangements belong to that platform and should not be assumed for your own files. Billo’s extra-footage explanation.
Ask for one reviewable first assembly
Request a first assembly that makes the intended crop, typography and sound decisions visible. Review it against the manifest and the original product evidence, not only its overall attractiveness. New copy can alter the meaning of an otherwise accurate clip, and an aggressive crop can remove the context that made a scale impression reasonable.
When approving the final edit, preserve the source, manifest and delivered version together. Record which wording and interval were approved. This leaves the next editor enough information to adapt the creative without having to reconstruct the previous decisions or repeat a paid generation merely because a file lacked context.

Frequently asked questions
Should I send the generated clip with music already added?
Send the clean original as well as any approved assembly. Identify the source and permission status of added audio so the editor can work responsibly.
Does Itemlume generate the handoff manifest automatically?
No. This guide describes a manual production document to prepare alongside your downloaded files.
Does exporting at a larger size restore missing source detail?
No. Separate the file’s actual properties from the requested delivery format, and inspect the final crop and legibility after editing.
