REFERENCE TROUBLESHOOTING / Product images
Why does the liquid fill level move in AI bottle photos?
Record the liquid level with the bottle upright and the camera position understood. Use the same container angle for the initial generation. A curved boundary seen through glass can be an optical effect; check it against a controlled reference before deciding that the fill amount or bottle shape has changed.
Identify what the reference actually proves
The visible fill boundary depends on liquid, container curvature, viewing angle and reflections. A label may hide part of it, and a sloping bottle changes where the liquid sits. A generator can also move the line for symmetry or confuse the rear wall with a second fill level. Do not calculate a commercial fill quantity from the height of a generated boundary. This comparison concerns visible state, not metrology.
Prepare the evidence before generating
- Place the actual bottle upright on a level surface and allow its contents to settle as appropriate. Record whether bubbles or foam are representative.
- Capture a complete view with the liquid boundary visible. Add a detail of the shoulder and neck if those regions make the line ambiguous.
- Keep a second camera-height reference if needed, with the bottle unmoved. Label the angles instead of mixing them as if their fill lines should match exactly.
- Generate the same upright view first. Judge the bottle outline, liquid boundary and any headspace as related features.
Example creative request and a review matrix
Illustrative request: Present this upright bottle at the angle shown in the main reference. Preserve the container geometry, photographed liquid appearance, visible fill boundary and headspace. Keep the label position unchanged. Do not fill the bottle to the cap, add a second liquid layer or convert a reflected line into a second meniscus.
| Observed symptom | Evidence to inspect | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| The line moves while the bottle angle is unchanged | Compare the controlled upright reference | Reject the unsupported state change |
| Two lines appear near the shoulder | Inspect the source for reflections or rear-wall edges | Resolve the optical ambiguity |
| A tilted scene retains an impossible horizontal relationship | Check gravity direction and the actual reference | Choose a supported pose or recapture |
Make the release decision
Use verified volume information in copy rather than interpreting pixels as capacity. If a promotional scene tilts or pours the bottle, it requires appropriate state evidence and additional review. Keep an upright genuine image in the gallery when buyers need to inspect the pack and contents. A successful fill-line review should record which camera angle and product state were approved, not imply that the amount has been independently measured.

Frequently asked questions
Does a higher fill line prove I get more product?
No. Container shape and camera angle affect its appearance, and a generated image is not a quantity measurement. Use the product’s verified labeled quantity.
