How should I divide 15 seconds across nine product-ad shots?

Give the important product explanation enough time, reserve the ending, and check the sum before generating the source footage.

01 / HOW SHOULD I DIVIDE 15 SECONDS ACROSS NINE PRODUCT-AD SHOTS?

Start with the explanation and ending

A fictional refill-bottle advert needs viewers to notice the reusable outer bottle and separate refill pouch. Giving every shot the same duration leaves little time to understand that relationship. Reserve three seconds for the central explanation and two for the final product view, then allocate the remaining ten across seven supporting shots. The numbers are a planning exercise, not a recommended timing for every product.

Write the requested total beside the table. If the user changes the duration, recalculate the complete sequence rather than only extending the final cell. A nine-shot plan is useful only if the sequence remains understandable at the new length.

Build a timed paper edit

ShotsIllustrative final durationJob
1–21.5 + 1.5 secondsIntroduce product and use context
3–52 + 3 + 1.5 secondsExplain bottle/refill relationship
6–81 + 1 + 1 secondSupporting detail and transition
92.5 secondsClear ending; total 15 seconds

Read the product message aloud while following the cells. If a necessary explanation cannot fit, reduce the message or choose a longer supported film duration. Do not speed up a factual demonstration until it becomes an unreadable gesture. The footage generated for each shot may be longer than its final allocation.

03 / HOW SHOULD I DIVIDE 15 SECONDS ACROSS NINE PRODUCT-AD SHOTS?

Keep source length separate

Source clips provide material for assembly; the script durations describe the final timeline. Record both. If one generated action does not finish within the planned segment, inspect whether a different usable segment exists before changing the advertised action. A longer generated source is not permission to silently change the requested final duration.

In Itemlume, review the displayed plan and final film metadata. The current assembly uses configured durations; external fine editing remains available for a deliberate alternate cut. This worksheet does not add a frame-accurate editing control to the website.

04 / HOW SHOULD I DIVIDE 15 SECONDS ACROSS NINE PRODUCT-AD SHOTS?

Verify comprehension after assembly

Watch the final film once without pausing and ask a fresh reviewer what is sold and what changed between bottle and pouch. Then inspect the critical transition. A correct duration sum cannot establish comprehension. If the refill relationship is unclear, revise that section of the plan rather than filling the remaining time with more decorative motion.
