REFERENCE TROUBLESHOOTING / Product images
Why does AI change a pump bottle’s head height or locking position?
Document the actual locked shipping state and the supported ready-to-use state separately. A pump head can change height or orientation when unlocked, but the generator should not invent that movement. Keep the collar, stem and nozzle tied to the photographed configuration.
Identify what the reference actually proves
A compact shipping photo may show the head pressed down, while a lifestyle source shows a raised stem. If those states are not identified, AI can combine a low head with an extended stem or point the nozzle through the collar. The ambiguity is especially easy to miss when the bottle label remains correct. Treat the pump as a stateful mechanism, not a decorative cap.
Prepare the evidence before generating
- Identify the actual pump variant and check the manufacturer’s relevant operation information. Photograph the sealed or shipping configuration as received.
- Obtain a genuine ready-to-use reference when that state is needed. Keep the same bottle and pump assembly rather than substituting a similar dispenser.
- Capture the collar, stem and nozzle relationship in each state. Record any verified rotation or release direction without inventing an instruction.
- Generate one chosen configuration at a time. Compare head height, stem visibility and nozzle orientation before approving the scene.
Example creative request and a review matrix
Illustrative request: Show this bottle with the pump in the photographed ready-to-use state. Preserve the actual collar, stem extension, head height and nozzle direction. The shipping-state image documents the same assembly in another state; do not merge the two, add another stem or invent a locking instruction.
| Observed symptom | Evidence to inspect | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| The nozzle intersects the collar | Compare the selected configuration detail | Reject impossible assembly |
| A raised stem appears under a shipping-height head | Check the state labels | Use one coherent state |
| A rotation arrow is invented | Compare verified instructions | Remove unsupported operation copy |
Make the release decision
Use actual instructions for opening and operating the dispenser. A generated state does not verify dose, leak resistance or lock reliability. Keep a genuine mechanism detail if buyers need to understand how the product arrives. Clear state naming also helps later video work avoid animating a release motion that the real pump does not perform.

Frequently asked questions
Can AI infer the unlock direction from the pump’s shape?
It should not be treated as evidence. Obtain the actual operation reference or verified instructions for that pump.
