DIAGNOSTIC GUIDE / Image remix

How should a presale creative separate the deposit, balance and total price?

Separate the deposit, later balance and complete purchase amount in the creative. A prominent small deposit can be mistaken for the item’s price when the remaining payment is unclear. Use the seller’s actual order terms and keep payment stages distinct from production or dispatch timing. A buyer should identify the complete amount and remaining payment action without guessing.

01 / HOW SHOULD A PRESALE CREATIVE SEPARATE THE DEPOSIT, BALANCE AND TOTAL PRICE?

The deposit headline can hide the total price

“Pay now” can refer to the current payment stage rather than the whole transaction. A screenshot or another seller’s presale example does not establish your conditions. Qualification, deadline and balance route may matter as much as arithmetic, so the price card must explain what each amount is for.

Treat deposit, required balance and full price as three labeled fields. Specify the currency and any confirmed qualification or date. Production start and dispatch are separate events; a buyer paying a deposit should not infer either immediate shipment or a complete purchase.

02 / HOW SHOULD A PRESALE CREATIVE SEPARATE THE DEPOSIT, BALANCE AND TOTAL PRICE?

Match each amount to its payment stage

Take the approved order terms and write a payment-stage table. Record deposit, balance, total amount, currency and each actual date or condition. Compare the creative with the intended order page without making a real payment. Ask a reviewer which amount they believe buys the item before approving the layout.

Compare the price artwork with the actual intended order terms, without submitting a purchase. Check whether the same SKU, dates and amounts appear on both. Ask a reviewer to name the complete cost after seeing the creative; ambiguity means the message needs revision.

  1. Label its limited role: actual first-stage amount.
  2. Show the approved route: required later payment.
  3. Check currency and arithmetic: verified complete amount.
  4. Compare with order terms: dates and buyer eligibility.
03 / HOW SHOULD A PRESALE CREATIVE SEPARATE THE DEPOSIT, BALANCE AND TOTAL PRICE?

A fictional 10 plus 40 payment example

Fictional exercise: a presale desk organizer uses a 10-unit deposit and a 40-unit balance, totaling 50. The artwork labels all three amounts and the fictional payment stages. These invented figures do not describe a real promotion, refund rule or universal marketplace presale arrangement.

For the fictional organizer, write “deposit 10, balance 40, total 50” and mark the hypothetical stages. Check the arithmetic and which amount belongs beside the product price. The example does not establish a seller’s real terms, refund conditions or marketplace-wide presale rules. If a discount depends on completing a later payment, preserve that condition when explaining the total. Do not combine a confirmed deposit with an unconfirmed discounted balance. Check the artwork after any term revision, rather than changing only the order-page text.

04 / HOW SHOULD A PRESALE CREATIVE SEPARATE THE DEPOSIT, BALANCE AND TOTAL PRICE?

Resolve the final amount before publishing

Stop if the total, required balance or payment conditions are not confirmed. Do not use a dramatic deposit headline to conceal an unresolved final amount.

If the later payment, deadline or eligibility remains unknown, keep the price creative unapproved. A striking small number cannot substitute for a resolved payment explanation. The seller approves transaction terms; the platform manages the payment route. Itemlume can draft a price explanation but cannot establish order rules or certify a promotion’s legality.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Can I show only the deposit as the price?

That risks an incomplete price promise. Label the necessary balance and total using actual terms.

Does a deposit mean immediate dispatch?

Not inherently. State confirmed payment, production and dispatch events separately.

Are 10, 40 and 50 real promotion figures?

No. They are explicitly fictional teaching values, not an actual offer.
