DECISION GUIDE / A+ product pages

Which modular-product combinations have actually been verified to work?

A modular product is not automatically compatible with every module that looks similar. Before advertising an arrangement, record which physical connections have been verified, which remain untested, and what evidence supports each decision. Use a compatibility matrix to approve specific combinations. Treat AI room scenes as illustrations, never as proof that modules connect.

01 / DECISION GUIDE

Verify the connection, not the appearance

Two shelving modules may share dimensions and finishes while using different connectors. A believable room image cannot establish whether their joints align or lock securely. This guide addresses physical compatibility, not the number of pieces included in an order.

Fictional example: shelves A and B have a documented, approved connection. Shelf C looks similar, but its connector has not been inspected. An AI-generated A+C arrangement remains an unverified concept, regardless of how convincing the joint appears.

  1. Assign stable identifiers to each module and connector revision.
  2. Collect supplier drawings, connector photographs and existing physical verification records.
  3. Identify the exact joining direction and installation conditions.
  4. Mark missing evidence as untested rather than compatible.
02 / DECISION GUIDE

Build a three-module compatibility matrix

Record each proposed interface separately. An approved A+B connection does not establish A+C or B+C compatibility. Neither does it establish a three-module assembly unless that complete arrangement has been checked.

Use three distinct statuses: Verified, Untested and Failed. Verified requires a recorded basis for the exact interface. Failed requires a documented unsuccessful check. Untested means no adequate conclusion exists.

Decide what the visual may communicate

Separate a documented configuration from a speculative design illustration. A verified arrangement may be illustrated, subject to ordinary product-image review. An untested arrangement must not be presented as an available, working assembly.

For the fictional A+C scene, either obtain physical evidence before making a compatibility claim or replace the arrangement with a documented one. A concept label alone does not make an unsupported product promise suitable for a sales page.

Itemlume can help develop raster visual concepts and copy drafts. Its images do not verify connectors. Logged-in text planning is free; image and video generation follow the current quoted price.

  1. Match every visible joint to a matrix entry.
  2. Flag any connection absent from the approved evidence.
  3. Choose a documented arrangement or request verification.
  4. Keep the matrix identifier with the approved visual.
04 / DECISION GUIDE

Release only the exact verified arrangement

A pairwise connection record may not cover a longer assembly. Additional modules can introduce support, loading or installation questions. Ask the responsible product or engineering owner to confirm the complete arrangement against the applicable product documentation.

Before publication, manually compare the final image, configuration wording and approved record. Shopify supports product media delivery, but displaying an image does not establish factual compatibility. The same limitation applies to realistic AI imagery.

When a connector revision changes, suspend the affected configuration claim until its evidence is reviewed. Preserve the prior decision, reviewer and revision reference.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

If A connects to B, and B connects to C, is A+B+C verified?

No. Individual connections do not automatically establish that the complete assembly works. Verify the proposed configuration separately.

Can a realistic AI room image count as compatibility evidence?

No. Use physical or documented interface evidence. An AI image may illustrate an approved configuration but cannot establish its fit.
