DECISION GUIDE / Assets & tasks
Can a smaller safety-review copy preserve the original 4K storyboard output?
A smaller review copy can reduce transport size while the delivered 4K original stays unchanged. The two files must have separate roles and an explicit association. Itemlume verified this separation in a limited test; it does not mean every failed review is a size problem or that review may be skipped.
What we actually checked
Four genuine gpt-image-2.5 outputs measured 4096 × 2304 pixels. Their PNG sizes were 10,393,770, 10,176,733, 10,296,455 and 9,300,421 bytes. All four passed the tested review path. One original was also reviewed through the production moderation service. This is a bounded transport-and-file-preservation test, not a complete four-grid browser task or product-fidelity benchmark.
For the first image, a same-dimension JPEG used for review measured 1,349,128 bytes. Reducing bytes and reducing pixel dimensions are different changes: this copy retained the pixel dimensions but used a different encoding. The customer delivery continued to use the original PNG.
Separate three checks before diagnosing a failure
A readable file does not prove a completed safety decision, and a completed safety decision does not prove that every product detail is accurate. Keep these conclusions separate when explaining an error.
| Check | Recorded result | What it cannot establish |
|---|---|---|
| File and dimensions | Original PNG; 4096 × 2304 | Whether the product is faithfully depicted |
| Review transport | Associated JPEG; 1,349,128 bytes | That all providers accept every request |
| Delivery preservation | Original hash remained equal | That the image meets every commercial requirement |
Compare the file that the customer actually receives
Use the original's hash before review and after delivery. For this first PNG the SHA-256 was 08bc51ca4c46fd7bedac8376fe9b5d18f535ecadbedbd1e148d9c219d53c919f. An equal hash establishes identical bytes for this file; it does not evaluate visual quality.
- Keep the original immutable and associate the review derivative with that original's identifier.
- Record dimensions, byte size, encoding and the review result separately.
- Compare the delivered original hash with the saved original hash.
- Review product identity and lettering against authorized source images before release.
What remains blocked or untested
An unavailable or failed safety review still blocks delivery. The application must not treat a transport error as an approval, silently retry a paid generation, or present a resized derivative as the purchased original.
This test did not establish video quality, 16- or 25-shot campaign quality, a provider-wide reliability rate or a reduced rejection rate. Its public proof record intentionally contains only technical metadata and scope, without private product images or account information.

Frequently asked questions
Did this test show the original was compressed for delivery?
No. A separately encoded review copy was used, while the original PNG hash stayed unchanged.
Does passing review mean the product is accurate?
No. Safety review, file preservation and product-fidelity review answer different questions.
