Assets & tasks / PRODUCTION GUIDE
What does continuing a paused product batch actually do?
Continuing a paused batch lets its remaining waiting items proceed; it does not automatically retry a failed item or recreate successful results. First inspect the interruption and the original task states. If a related job is still active, pending or uncertain, resolve that existing work before trying to continue the batch.
Read the batch and item states separately
A batch is a queue of planned items, while each submitted item has its own generation record. In a hypothetical four-candle batch with one variant per product, the first image succeeds, the second fails and two items remain waiting. The paused label describes why the queue stopped advancing. It does not say that the first result disappeared or that the other two were already generated.
Open the item list and identify the interruption before pressing Continue. Keep the successful result, read the failed item message and check whether an uncertain task exists. Treat missing confirmation differently from a recorded failure. A browser interruption can leave an original task worth checking, so another click should not be used as a guess about whether the provider received the request.
Establish what continuation will actually schedule
| Item state | After a valid continuation | Separate decision still needed |
|---|---|---|
| Succeeded | Existing result remains | Product approval and download |
| Failed | Not automatically resubmitted | Whether a corrected new request is worthwhile |
| Waiting | Eligible to proceed in the queue | Current inputs, access and applicable quote |
| Active or uncertain original job | Can block continuation | Inspect and resolve the original task |
For the candle example, valid continuation can move on to the third and fourth waiting products while the failed second item stays failed. The current queue does not reset every item to waiting. A batch can eventually reach its completed queue state with an unsuccessful item still recorded. Review the actual outputs before describing the campaign set as complete or approved.
Resolve an uncertain job rather than starting a duplicate
The current continuation check rejects related jobs that remain running, queued, submitting, downloading, pending or unknown. Look in Generation tasks for the recorded job and its available recovery action. Checking an existing task is different from requesting another candidate. Keep the recorded submission associated with the batch, especially when its outcome has not yet been confirmed.
If the task is definitely failed, decide what needs correction before considering another generation. An unusable source photograph or unsupported input needs a concrete change. Continue the remaining appropriate items only if their references and campaign assumptions are still valid. Do not interpret the Continue button as a repair tool for the failed product or as a promise that the same provider request will be submitted again.
Generation allowances depend on the provider and eligible operation.
Review the remaining plan and the shown recovery message
A pause creates a useful checkpoint. In the candle batch, inspect whether the third and fourth jars use the same problematic reflective source setup as the failed item. If they do, advancing the queue may repeat the underlying issue. Stop the remaining work and prepare better inputs when the plan needs a material change. If only the second source is defective, continuing the other valid items can remain a reasonable choice.
Read the current quote and access information before submitting new work. If the workspace reports that credit prices changed and instructs you to stop and recreate the batch, follow that recovery path. Repeated Continue clicks do not refresh an incompatible saved quote. No fixed credit rate in a tutorial can replace the quote shown for your account and requested operation.
Review credit records separately from queue status. Successful and failed items have their own recorded outcomes, and continuation does not itself establish a refund. Keep an original result when one appears after status recovery. This prevents a newly planned replacement from duplicating a task that was merely awaiting confirmation.
Create a separate repair plan for the skipped product
After the remaining queue reaches a clear outcome, list accepted products and missing deliverables. For the hypothetical campaign, the second candle may need one corrected request using a sharper label reference. Record that as a new production decision with its own quote, rather than calling it a continuation of the failed item. Avoid regenerating the three already approved images just to obtain a visually complete batch history.
Use original-task recovery for uncertain job states. The creative preflight checklist helps review the outputs that survived the interruption. Keep a handoff note identifying skipped items and the reason. Queue completion, successful generation and campaign approval are three different conclusions, each supported by its own visible evidence.

Frequently asked questions
Will Continue retry the failed image automatically?
No. It advances remaining waiting items after the continuation checks pass; the failed item is not reset for automatic retry.
Why is continuation blocked while a task is pending or unknown?
The original submission may still need resolution. Inspect its recorded task and available recovery action before starting more work.
Does a completed batch mean every item succeeded?
No. Inspect item outcomes and approved results. Queue completion does not certify a full usable creative set.
