Why did replacing one offline shot change several versions of my advertisement?

A project item can be used repeatedly across sequences. Relinking that item to a different file can update those occurrences together. Decide whether you intend to repair a shared source or revise only one placement.

01 / WHY DID REPLACING ONE OFFLINE SHOT CHANGE SEVERAL VERSIONS OF MY ADVERTISEMENT?

Work through the cause

  1. Locate every use of the affected project item before relinking. Save a copy of the project and identify frozen campaign versions.
  2. Repair the shared source only if all occurrences should use it. For an independent creative replacement, use an appropriately separate project item and placement.
  3. Review every affected sequence, checking trims and first frames as well as product identity. Save under a new version.

A concrete case (illustrative)

Illustrative case: a new cap color is relinked into the project to fix one draft, but the same item also appears in last week’s approved cut. Both versions now display the new product.

Acceptance and next action

Pass when the change affects exactly the intended sequence placements. A successful relink is not evidence that its scope was correct. Keep previous approved exports available so the merchant can compare campaign versions.
