Can resetting a Smart Object transform repair a warped product mockup?

Work through the cause

1. Open the object contents and inspect the actual product source. If the source itself is stretched, a parent-layer transform reset will not establish correct geometry.
2. In a duplicate layout, compare the placed object before and after resetting or rebuilding its transform. Keep the original mockup intact.
3. Reapply only the required placement, checking circles, label baselines and visible edges against the reference.

A concrete case (illustrative)

Illustrative case: a jar looks elliptical in a front-facing banner. The embedded source is correct, but an inherited perspective transform remains from an earlier box mockup. Rebuilding the placement is more appropriate than generating a new jar.

Acceptance and next action

Pass when distortion has a deliberate presentation purpose or has been removed without changing the source. Do not confuse a plausible perspective with verified physical dimensions. Keep the untouched template available until the corrected placement is approved.
