DELIVERY TROUBLESHOOTING / Assets & tasks

Why does a draft label reappear in only one exported Photoshop layout?

Inspect the saved visibility state of that layout’s layer comp. Hiding a draft label in the current view does not necessarily remove it from another stored comp.

01 / WHY DOES A DRAFT LABEL REAPPEAR IN ONLY ONE EXPORTED PHOTOSHOP LAYOUT?

Work through the cause

  1. List temporary layers such as review notes, variant labels and draft stamps. Keep a review-only file if those notes are still useful.
  2. Activate every delivery comp and inspect those layers. Correct the visibility in the relevant comp, then update that specific stored state.
  3. Export all delivery states into a fresh folder and inspect the label region at readable size. Do not approve only the currently active layout.

A concrete case (illustrative)

Illustrative case: the square ad is clean, but the portrait export contains INTERNAL REVIEW. The portrait comp still records the temporary layer as visible. Fix its stored state rather than painting over the exported JPEG.

Acceptance and next action

Pass when each delivered layout excludes internal notes and retains any required consumer-facing disclosure. A draft stamp and a legally required statement have different purposes; do not remove both through a broad cleanup action.
