Why do bright parts of my product disappear after using Blend If?

Blend If changes visibility according to tonal ranges. It can hide genuine light product areas along with a light background. Review the removed material against an untouched source rather than assuming every white pixel is background.

01 / WHY DO BRIGHT PARTS OF MY PRODUCT DISAPPEAR AFTER USING BLEND IF?

Work through the cause

  1. Keep the original product layer visible in a comparison copy. Mark pale labels, reflections and white product surfaces that must survive.
  2. Inspect the affected tonal-range settings and compare with the effect disabled. Avoid moving sliders while judging only the backdrop.
  3. Use a more selective mask where tonal overlap makes automatic separation unreliable. Inspect the complete silhouette and interior markings.

A concrete case (illustrative)

Illustrative case: removing a pale backdrop also makes a white label partially transparent. A pleasing edge around the dark cap conceals the damaged label. Restrict the separation to the intended region or use a reviewed mask.

Acceptance and next action

Pass when required pale product regions remain present and no old background leaks through. This is a compositing problem, unlike blown-out source detail: if the original has no recoverable label information, a mask cannot restore it.
