Packaging studio / PRACTICAL GUIDE
How to organize brand and product information across packaging panels
Give the front a clear brand and product identity, then use secondary panels for verified information. Keep decorative graphics consistent across faces. Supply exact factual copy yourself; an AI packaging concept should not invent barcodes, certifications or regulated wording.
Decide what the front must communicate
At a small size, a buyer should be able to identify the brand and the product. An optional descriptor can clarify the category, but it should not compete with the name. For a ceramic accessory set, a clear product title is more useful than several unrelated slogans.
Packaging studio separates brand, product, audience, story, front copy and back copy. Use the story to guide a specific visual idea. Use the copy fields for approved wording. This prevents an emotional brand narrative from being mistaken for ingredients, guarantees or product specifications.
Give panels complementary roles
| Panel | Useful content | Common problem |
|---|---|---|
| Front | Brand, product name and one short descriptor | Too many competing headlines |
| Back | Verified explanation or usage information | Tiny text and invented claims |
| Side | A supporting motif or short secondary information | Unrelated artwork on every face |
| Top | A coherent brand detail | A different logo or inconsistent color |
Not every concept view shows every face. A closed hero typically shows the front, one side and top; an open view reveals other surfaces. Choose a presentation that helps evaluate the design you are currently deciding.
Translate a story into a visual system
An editorial direction emphasizes hierarchy and spacing. A botanical direction can use original line work tied to the product story. Luxury and playful directions should still use readable typography and a coherent motif. A change of style should affect composition and graphic language rather than add decoration unrelated to the brand.
- Set board and ink colors that have useful contrast.
- Choose a single visual motif related to the business or product.
- Upload your own logo reference when available.
- Keep the main name exact and body copy concise.
- Compare the graphic treatment across the visible faces after generation.
Check facts and production feasibility separately
Inspect every visible word, number and symbol. If an unrequested certification, barcode or ingredient list appears, reject or correct it. A barcode-shaped graphic is not a functional retail code. A foil-looking effect is an intended treatment, not an approved manufacturing specification.
Once the identity is coherent, move the approved content into production artwork with a supplier’s template. Keep source copy and logo files available so the printer does not need to reconstruct them from a mockup. This makes the concept useful as a direction while preserving accuracy at the stage where the package becomes a real object.

Frequently asked questions
Should I ask the AI to invent back-panel information?
No. Supply verified facts and approved copy. Decorative space is preferable to invented ingredients, certifications or legal labels.
Can I supply my own logo?
Yes. The current packaging workbench accepts an optional logo or visual reference. Inspect how it is reproduced in the result.
Will a generated barcode work at retail?
Do not assume so. Use a valid code and approved production artwork through your normal retail and printing process.
