AMAZON PRODUCT IMAGE WORKFLOW

Start an Amazon image set with evidence of the actual product.

An Amazon listing image should help a buyer understand the item they will receive. Build the set around clear source photos, then decide which additional scenes explain context or scale. Itemlume can help explore those scenes, but it is not an Amazon compliance checker and does not publish listing images.

01 / AMAZON PRODUCT IMAGE WORKFLOW

Keep the main image and supporting images distinct

Use the main image to identify the exact sale item. Use supporting images to answer different buying questions, such as included parts, a visible material detail, or a truthful use context. Avoid a set in which every frame repeats the same attractive angle without showing additional information.

Amazon's public product-photography guide describes white backgrounds as the default in most cases, requires at least one product image, and lists a longest-side range of 500–10,000 pixels. It also directs sellers to the detailed requirements in Seller Central. Verify the applicable main-image and category rules there rather than treating this guide as a complete checklist. 02 / AMAZON PRODUCT IMAGE WORKFLOW

Build an image brief from buyer questions

Buyer questionUseful sourceAI review concern
What exactly arrives?Clear photo of the actual unit and included partsInvented accessories, incorrect item count, altered packaging
What is the material?Close-up of the real surfaceMetal, fabric, glass, or finish changed by generation
How large is it?Verified dimensions or a truthful scale referenceGenerated hands and furniture creating false scale
How is it used?Documented use case and visible operating stateUnsupported performance, unsafe use, or an invented interface

Do not use a prompt to fill in an unseen back panel, port, seam, or label. Photograph the missing view. An attractive guess can create a mismatch between the listing and the shipped product.

Use Itemlume for a reviewable supporting-scene concept

  1. Choose a clear source.Keep the full product and visible identifying details. Maintain an unedited original for comparison.
  2. Specify a restrained setting.Use only context that matches the real use case, with no decorative items that look included in the purchase.
  3. Review product fidelity.Check the silhouette, label, quantity, color, scale, and contact with the scene. Reject material differences rather than explaining them away.
  4. Complete the channel check.Verify dimensions, file format, current marketplace rules, and the upload preview in Seller Central.

For a main image that must remain a precise photograph of the item, retain the original product photo and use a suitable photography or masking workflow. Itemlume's generated composition can alter product pixels.

04 / AMAZON PRODUCT IMAGE WORKFLOW

Make collection consistency useful, not repetitive

For related SKUs, keep the framing and light direction comparable while preserving actual size, color, and packaging differences. Run a small pilot before a batch. Keep accepted and rejected variants so you can estimate the effort required for each category.

Itemlume does not promise search placement, listing approval, or conversion improvement. Its role is to help create and review visual options; the seller remains responsible for the published listing.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Are AI-generated images automatically allowed as Amazon main images?

No such approval is implied. Check the current rules for your marketplace, category, and image position. Itemlume does not certify Amazon image compliance.

Can I use generated scenery for every image in the listing?

Choose each image to answer a buyer question accurately, and verify that its content is permitted for that placement. Keep real product evidence central to the set.

Does Itemlume upload images to Seller Central?

No. Download and inspect the image, then upload it through your own Amazon seller workflow.

Can AI supply a missing view of the product?

It can invent one, but that is not reliable product evidence. Photograph the missing side or detail instead.
